So Over You, Too

In today's edition of I Am So Over You we examine the life of Oscar the cat who can tell you are dying.
I would almost be interested in this story except that I cannot seem to avoid it anywhere, at any time. Over. You.

One of Those Days

You know there are great days and shitty days, and then there are those days in between. The day the paper gets wet or you step in dog poo. I think that's today's kind of day.

It started with the lady who cleans my house calling at 7 a.m. and waking me from a hard-earned sleep with a call to my cell phone. I missed her call (on the last ring naturally) and tried calling her twice without answer. So then I finally give up and go back to the bedroom and she calls me back again.

The letter N is not working on my keyboard.

So then I'm up so I decided to check in with Jac to see if he's survived the Nutty Professor who called him yesterday and got him in trouble with his boss. He's okay.

I finally got my shipment of genealogy supplies from Staples and it turns out I have ordered myself the utter wrong thing.

My scanner stopped working. My client was fussy and demanding. My email stopped working. My Tylenol stopped working.

It's been a very, very long day and I'm glad to see that it is finally winding down.

Sneaky, Scary, Spooky

The dog is in the shower. That is what Kahu does when she gets scared of a thunderstorm.

We're supposed to have one in a bit, but for now I still have access to the interwebs so I may actually be able to greet my vast reading public. I have been in a whirlwind since mom through us for a loop by needing emergency surgery followed by 6 weeks of recovery. We're a couple weeks into the recovery round and she's doing rather well. I've been out of the office like crazy, but have been working. I'm grateful that I have a job that magically at this moment is fairly conducive to remote work. I am astonished by how little I accomplish in a day during this convalescence even though I'm really just on call. I would have thought that after spending a couple weeks here I'd have all my genealogy in high-catalog mode and I'd have knit sweaters, and I'd have finally filed all last year's electric bills which it is now time to shred. But no. I haven't even caught a full episode of Keith Olbermann in ages. I did manage to hang up all my clothes today which was no small feat. And I made a charging station for all our jonx. I am trying to learn how wikis can declutter my life and also to decide if I am a recipe binder or recipe box kind of girl.
